William “Bill” C. Owens, 73, of Darien, Georgia, departed this life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Georgia.
A memorial service to honor Bill’s life will be held at a later date.
Bill was a native of Washington North Carolina, and had resided in McIntosh County for the past thirty years. He is a veteran of the United States Army serving his country well. Bill’s career was in sales with Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, where he received many awards for excellent in sales, retiring after 45 years. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Darien, and attended the First Presbyterian Church of Darien.
Bill enjoyed sailing and fishing. He leaves many fond memories that will be cherish by all.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Cooper and Margaret Owens.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda Herndon Owens of Darien, GA: his sister, Pat Norris of Washington, N.C., brothers, Charles Owens, Bobby Plummie and Johnny Owens, all of Washington, N.C., several nieces and nephews of Washington, N.C.
The family has requested that in lieu of customary remembrances, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Golden Isles 1692 Glynco Parkway Brunswick, Georgia 31525.
