Virginia Mae Welch, age 90, originally from Harrisburg, PA passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Franklin Eugene Welch and her son, Franklin Eugene Welch II. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Terrence Skelly of Lawrenceville, GA and grandchildren, Shawn and his wife, Beau Skelly of Chattanooga, TN; granddaughter, Carrie Card of Lawrenceville, GA, granddaughter, Christine and her husband, Andrew Megalo of Brockport, NY; great-grandchildren, Zachary Card, Cameron Card, Nicholas Megalo and Matthew Megalo; and her sister, Janet Karletta Schlaybach of Newport Beach, California. Mrs. Welch was born September 9, 1928 in Harrisburg, PA. She was a 1946 graduate of Clearfield High School in Clearfield, PA. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lutheran faith. Mrs.Welch was a beloved resident of Brookdale on South Lee Street in Buford, GA in her final years. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with Dr. Jim Ferguson officiating. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 20, 2018
