"MRS STEWART HAS GONE TO HER REST - Passed Peacefully Away Late Saturday Night - Mrs Ella Marsh Stewart, wife of Milton Stewart, died at the family residence, No 122 North Perry street, at 11 o'clock Saturday night. She had been sick for six and one-half months. What commenced with a nervous breakdown rapidly grew more complicated until heart trouble and Bright's disease were developed. Since last Tuesday she had been only partially conscious and her friends had realized that the end could not be far away. She suffered greatly, but she bore her pain with the greatest patience and during her long illness she never made the slightest complaint. She believed until a brief time ago that she might recover and to her friends she always spoke cheerfully of her condition. Mrs Stewart was born on April 17, 1848, in McKean county. She was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs J J Marsh. Her father was a native Pennsylvania[n], but her mother came from New England. They moved to Titusville in the fall of 1859, and Mr Marsh was employed as a helper upon the second oil well ever drilled, directly following the first well that was finished by Drake in August, 1859. The subject of this notice was married on Dec 23, 1880, to Milton Stewart of this city. Titusville had been their subsequent home, with the exception of periods, usually in the winter, when they went to Los Angeles, Cal, to escape the rigors of this climate. She had been a member of the Presbyterian church since 1873 and was an earnest Christian woman, believing and living her religion in her life of every day. She was charitable and kind. She gave much, though few knew of it. But there are many people who will remember her kindly, because of assistance she has rendered for those really in need. She was a member of the Titusville Woman's club. She had many friends and it will bring sorrow to all of them to learn that she has passed away. Mr Stewart, who has been faithfully at her bedside for many months will have the sincerest sympathy of the community. Mrs Stewart's only brother, Orlo J Marsh, died four years ago. She was the last of her immediate family, except an aged aunt, Mrs B D Dutton, and an uncle, M E Matthews, both of this city. She leaves her husband and one nephew, Arthur Marsh of California. Funeral services in her memory will be held at the residence, North Perry street, at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev Samuel Semple, pastor of the First Presbyterian church and for years an intimate friend of the family, will preach the funeral sermon. Interment will be made in Woodlawn cemetery."
