Andrea Sue Turner, 75, of Valentine, NE, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, after a valiant battle with illnesses. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her during her struggle and, ultimately, gave her peace.

The second child of Stan and Metta Harms, Sue was born on May 8, 1943, in Valentine. She attended school in Valentine and graduated from Valentine High School in 1961. As a child, she enjoyed swimming at the plunge and babysitting.

Sue married Lawrence, her high school sweetheart and the greatest love of her life, on June 12, 1960. They raised three daughters and one son on their ranch east of Valentine. While ranch wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother were her primary occupations, Sue also worked as an assistant at the Valentine Dental Clinic and at Cherry County Clinic, where she always greeted patients with gentleness and kindness. For many years, she operated the Sale Barn cafe. Her pies are legendary. When visiting Sue at home, friends and family were always welcomed with a cup of coffee, dessert, or meal. Her cooking skills were extraordinary. She was also exceptionally skilled at woodworking and remodeling houses. If Sue set her mind on doing something, she figured out how and accomplished the task. Sue also loved children and enjoyed working in the nursery and teaching Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church.

Sue was a loving woman who touched the lives of so many. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Lawrence; children, Tammy and Jerry Swoboda (Bryan, TX), Marianne and Mike Henley (Richmond, VA), Sonja and Terry Beavers (Manassas, VA), and Larry and Melissa Turner (Sparks, NE); grandsons, Harrison Faust and Jesse Holler, Nathan Faust (Bryan, TX), Alton Henley (Stafford, VA), and Calvin Beavers (Manassas, VA); great grandsons, William and Hunter Faust; siblings and in-laws, Mallene Gilroy (Ontario, CA), Sonny and Susie Harms (Valentine, NE), Lesa Harms (Stuart, FL), Pat Harms (Lincoln, NE); Wilma and Delbert Boyd (Snomich, WA); and Walter and Kathy Turner (MN); cousin Dick Jeffers; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stan and Metta Harms; in-laws, Raymond and Clarentine Turner; brother-in-law, Ron Gilroy; brother, Stanley J. Harms; and niece, Candace Harms.
