Johnny J. Biddix, age 82, of Marion, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 16, 2018 with his loving family by his side. A native of Mitchell County, Johnny was born on September 11, 1936 to the late Earl and Pearl Pittman Biddix.

Johnny was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church for over fifty years where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was part of the Singing Deacons Quartet and retired from Drexel Furniture Company. He truly enjoyed singing and loved being with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Johnny is survived by his wife of sixty years, Doris Canipe Biddix; four children, Janet Rodwell (Stuart), Vicki Davis (Rev. Lee), Pam Stines (Rev. Gerald) and Becky Higgins (Jason). Also surviving Johnny are twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Baptist Church. A funeral service to celebrate Johnny’s life will be held at 2:00 at the church with Reverends Jonathon Watson and Eric Grindstaff officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
