Apr 30, 1959 - Sep 13, 2018
Funeral services for Laura L. Little “Penny,” 59, of Henderson, will be held Tuesday September 18, 2018 at 10:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00am until 10:00am before the service. Laura died September 13, 2018 while sleeping in the comfort of her bed in her home, the place and time of passing most of us desire. A tumble off a ladder while painting her house in July 2017 led to an accidental discovery of lung cancer eight months later. Cancer stole Laura’s health and eventually her life, BUT it never touched her independent, giving nature and her legacy of love, which lives on in all who knew her.She treated everyone the same, but her grandkids got an extra measure of love and so did the furry and feathered creatures she cared for throughout her life: dogs, birds, rabbits, cats, chickens—even squirrels, but only that one time. She also loved her desert boots, Lowe’s garden center, sweet tea and her friends. However, she also let you know if you rubbed her the wrong way, like the burglar she chased with a bat as a teen, a certain previous boss and even her daughter on occasion. She was born in Houston on April 30, 1959 and is survived by her daughter and two grandchildren, her father, two sisters and one brother. She also leaves behind one step-sister and step-brother, and several cousins. Last, but far from least, are the many, many friends and coworkers—past and present—she left behind as she stepped into her perfect new life. Laura was preceded in death by her brother Kevin Vance, mother, Sharon Williams and stepfather, Doug Williams
