David Duane Kramer passed away late Friday night September 7, 2018, in Bremerton, WA, in a fatal motorcycle accident on his way home to Port Orchard, WA. While between rotations for his job as “Oiler” on Northern Eagle at American Seafoods Company, motorcycling brought him great enjoyment.

Born September 4, 1991, in Yakima, he was educated in the Highland District (Naches Hts.) schools, A.C. Davis High School and YVCC. Growing up, he was passionate about dirt motorcycling, snowmobiling, and boating with his family, as well as Grid Kids football and Gators wrestling. David moved to Port Orchard in 2014 and was employed by American Seafoods in 2016, initially as a processor. He so enjoyed his first voyage, he desired a more permanent position; so he hired on with the engineering crew. Always eager to excel and achieve, he was proud to earn his “Oiler” certification (with a 98% score) from U.S. Coast Guard training after only 6 months as part of the engineering crew. David had struggled in his later teens with health issues and lack of direction and focus in life. Working on Northern Eagle provided new purpose, recognition of his great potential with a keen, inquisitive mind, good work ethic and attitude, and increased his awareness of his abilities, talents and skills for a brighter future. He loved his job and his ship, taking his responsibilities seriously along with the daily challenges it presented for him to learn, grow, and achieve.

He also found he had a passion for the adventures of traveling, seeing new countries with wonderful scenery, experiencing different cultures and meeting their people as he’d already been to Alaska and to the Philippines twice, with plans for more adventures to other exciting places ahead. He was developing a deep faith with Jesus Christ which helped him focus on the present, rather than his past. He was excited to share his faith in Christ with the people he met. He was an overcomer with a profound zest for life and a distinct impact on whomever he met. His death came far too soon for family and friends who will miss him intensely.

He is survived by his father Don Kramer, his mother Chris Kramer, his sister Victoria (Steve) Jahn, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 11.00 a.m., at Terrace Hts. Memorial Park Cemetery. Please share a memory of David at www.Shawandsons.com.
