Margie Elaine Herndon, 68, of Lake Mary, FL was received into Heaven surrounded by her family on June 11, 2017. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Margie was born to the late Joseph and Joyce Ballew on June 6, 1949 in Wichita, KS. She moved to Longwood, FL with her family in 1987 where she remained until her passing. Margie owned and operated Herndon Plumbing with her husband, Daniel. She was also very involved in their church, Sanlando United Methodist Church, where she was a part of the ladies group called Covenant Discipleship (CD). Margie adored her church family and served alongside them often. She was a very self-sacrificing woman with a kind heart. Above all, Margie was a devoted mother of three children. Margie was the ultimate mom. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and all things homemaking. When you ask her husband of 48 years to describe Margie, one word comes right to his mind- “Perfect.” And that can be said for all who knew Margie. She was much loved and loved others deeply. Margie was also a wonderful grandmother to her four grandchildren. She was very involved in both her children’s and her grandchildren’s lives. She was also very inclusive to her children’s spouses, whom she considered family and welcomed them as such. Margie’s legacy is her family and they will miss her deeply but honor her daily. Margie was preceded in passing by her parents, Joseph and Joyce Ballew and her brother, Stephen Ballew. She is survived by her husband Daniel R. Herndon; children Amy Richardson and her husband David, Joe Herndon and his wife April, and Melanie Jacobson and her husband Michael; brother Phillip Ballew and his wife Penny; grandchildren Austin Wood, Gavin Herndon, Kate Jacobson, and Adam Richardson; as well as many, many close friends. Burial was at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Baldwin Fairchild, an honored Dignity Memorial provider.
