Kenny L. Amtower, 52, of Rt. 5, Box 218, Stonewall Manor, Hershey Hollow Road, Keyser, WV, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at his residence.
Born on December 4, 1953 at Keyser, WV, he was a son of Leota "Odie" (McDonald) Amtower of New Creek, WV and the late Ervin O. "Foxie" Amtower.
Mr. Amtower was employed with Cannon Electric in Keyser as a construction worker with 16 years of service and also was formerly employed by the late Rev. John "Jack" Sanders at Knobley Farms. He was a member of the Sunnyside Church of the Brethren, New Creek and was a youth leader in the church. A 1972 graduate of Keyser High School, he was a member of the Sunnysiders 4-H and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Kenny was a loving and dedicated son, husband, father and brother and he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his wife of 16 years, Darla J. (Abernathy) Amtower; three sons, Andrew W. Amtower and wife Jennifer of New Creek, Michael C. Amtower of Morgantown, WV and Bryan K. Amtower, at home; one daughter, Brianna L. Amtower, at home and his mother-in-law, Violet Abernathy of New Creek. Also surviving are his five brothers, Jerry E. Amtower and wife Susie of Scherr, WV, Robert A. Amtower and wife Deborah, Donald E. Amtower and friend Lois LaSalle, Edward L. Amtower and wife Marsha and Ronald L. Amtower and wife Vickie, all of New Creek and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, May 12 from 2-9 p.m.
Funeral services were conducted at the Sunnyside Church of the Brethren, New Creek, on Saturday, May 13 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James "Sonny" Dodds and Rev. Kevin Staggs officiating.
Interment was in the Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, WV.
