Derek Brandon Hill, 36, of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Derek was born in Galax, Virginia to the late Roger Walter Hill and Doris Lee Roberts Hill Moody.

Derek proudly service his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his daughters Kamdyn Hill and Brailyn Hill of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; parents Doris R. and Nick Moody of Woodlawn; sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Shannon Lowe of Independence, Virginia; mother of the children Brandi Webb of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; step sister Nikki Hawks of Tampa, Florida; step brothers and spouses; Steve and Kim Moody of Fancy Gap, Virginia and Robert and Lisa Moody of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Several Nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 16, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Galax with Rev. Doug Stuart and Rev. Terri Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Hackler Cemetery, Independence, Virginia.

Military rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726.
