He was born on June 20, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John D. and Betty Wesson Keener and passed from this life on September 6, 2018 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Enid, attending Enid High School. He joined the United States Army in 1979 and served until 1986. He served as a mechanic and infantryman. His duty stations included Germany and FT. Sill, OK.
He moved to Texas following and earned his Associates Degree at the DeVry Institute in Ft. Worth. We worked at the Tandy Center. He returned to Enid and worked in the roofing industry and at the VFW as a cook. In 2012, he married Kristin McSparin at the Enid VFW. He called bingo, liked fixing things, and was known for his collectibles.
He is survived by his wife; Kristen Keener, of the home, children; Michael Jr. and wife Cherilyn of Waukomis, Tina Harper and husband Shane of Enid, April Whitrock and husband Thomas of Enid, and Klarissa Garcia and Husband Miguel Garcia of Natchitoches, Louisiana, two brothers; Gary Keener of Enid, and David Keener and wife Cindy of North Richland Hills, Texas, sister; Sharon Keener of California, twelve grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Johnny and Earl, and one grandchild.
