He married Elizabeth Houston on 27 December 1870 in LaRue County, Kentucky.
In the 1880 LaRue County Census for the Buffalo district, Henry Perkins was family 171. He was 32 years old, a Farmer, born in Kentucky, as were his parents. His wife, Elizabeth, was 24. Their children were: Henrie Ann, 8; Artie, 6; Will Tom, 4; Rosa D., 3; James Billie, 2; and Leslie Jane, 1 year. He lived next door to William Houston, Henry's mother, Mary A. Perkins, age 42, was living with William. Her son Simon was with her.
In 1900, Henry and his wife Elizabeth are living in household 164. Living with them:
