Guy Elmer Nightingale, age 91, passed away on September 12, 2018 in Conroe, Texas. Guy was born in Corning, Kansas to Harold and Dorothy Nightingale on July 11, 1927. Guy was a member of Boy Scouts of America and became an Eagle Scout at the young age of fourteen. Four years later, he proudly joined the Navy during WWII. Guy was a collegiate athlete and graduate of East Texas Baptist University. On June 2, 1951, Guy married the love of his life, Betty Ford Nightingale. Together they raised two sons, Steve and Scotty Nightingale. Guy retired from Amoco Oil Co. after thirty-six years as a right of way agent. Guy was a devoted sports fan and remained an active golfer and competitive bowler well into his late 80’s. Guy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Harold and Dorothy Nightingale; his wife, Betty Ford Nightingale; and son, Scotty Nightingale. Guy will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Susan Nightingale; and daughter-in-law, Marcia Woodall and brother, Max Nightingale. Grandchildren Natalie (Bobby) Brooks; Nicholas Nightingale; Taylor Nightingale; Stephenie (Matthew) Jordan. Great grandchildren Madison; Beckham; India; Luke; Madeleine; and William. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Heritage Oaks.
