Randy Lee Melton

Randy Lee Melton, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 at his Caldwell home surrounded by loved ones. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and uncle. Randy was born on December 2nd, 1950 in Caldwell, Idaho. He grew up on a farm but left home as a teenager to join the army. Randy served his country in the Vietnam war, where he became a decorated soldier. After an honorable discharge from the military, he moved back to Idaho where he ran his own ranch until retiring in 2011. He lived a full life filled with adventures and experiences.

Randy enjoyed many things including ranching, rodeos, playing music, watching westerns and races of all kinds including Nascar and drag races. He also loved to spend time with his family and friends and was often the life of the party. To those around him, he was known to tease, make jokes, and would do nearly anything to make someone smile and laugh. He had a contagious smile and a heart filled with kindness and love. Randy also enjoyed country western and honky tonk music, some of his favorite artists being Hank Williams Sr., Hank Williams Jr., Johnny Cash, George Jones, Roger Miller and many more.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Alvin Lee Melton, mother Lonna Melton, brother Ricky Melton, half-brother Billy Sharr and his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife Charlene Melton, his stepson Eric Derossett and his wife Geneve Buff-Derossett, stepson Matthew DeRossett and his partner Michael Wise, stepdaughter Kristen Morris and her husband Ryan Morris, stepdaughter Andrea DeRossett and her fiancé Gary Hickey. His daughters Tammy, Tanya and Terri, his brothers Floyd Clemens, and Cameron Melton. His sisters Judy Shurtz, Cheryl Francke. Sandy Minor, and Carol Christiansen.
