Mr. Charlie Lester Murphy, age 63, passed away on September 11, 2018 in Biloxi, MS.

He was born in Rockford, IL, graduated from Biloxi High School, and worked as the Chef at Broadwater Marina. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiotherapy at the University of Southern MS and worked as a Correctional Therapist for special education at the Jackson County Exceptional School. He retired from the school system in 2007. He previously served as President of the Men’s Auxiliary for the VFW Post 6731. Charlie loved to bring joy during the Christmas season as Santa Clause to schools of children with special needs and other community organizations.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Camille Murphy; parents, Charlie Wilson Murphy and Nancy Joyce Siex; and one brother-in-law, Michael Spalding.

He is survived by his two daughters, Camille Murphy of Biloxi and Charlsie Murphy of Biloxi; two sisters, Laura Johnson (Melvin) of Biloxi and Joyce Spalding of Hammond, LA; two nephews, Tommy Brunow (Angela) and Bobby Johnson (Lillian); and four great-nieces and nephews, Riley, Ashlyn, Claire, and Grant.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 12 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10 AM until the service time at 12 PM at the funeral home chapel. A private interment will be held at Southern Memorial Park.
