Roy was a lifelong member of St. John United Church of Christ - Schwarzwald and was confirmed in March of 1959. He taught Sunday School for 20 years, served a term on the consistory and was the church historian for the next 20 years. He was also a member of the Kupfahl - Meyer - Scheib American Legion Post #387, where he served as Chaplain, Vice Commander and Commander. Roy was also the Post Adjutant for the past 25 years and participated in the Military Funeral Honor Guard.
Roy is survived by his two brothers Harold (Ann) Luebke of Valders and Wayne Luebke of Manitowoc, three sisters-in-law Myra Luebke, Naomi Luebke, and Julianne Luebke, a brother-in-law Alvin Kracht, twenty nieces and nephews; Gerald Luebke, Germaine Getter, Laura Wallendr, Larry Luebke, Russell Vogt, Steven Vogt, Susan Kracht, Cindy Klapperich, Sandra Kracht, Dean Luebke, Kara Sieracki, Allan Luebke, Kristine Knickelbein, Karl Luebke, Karol Bloechel, Aaron Luebke, Michelle Mauk, Tracy Sommer, William Luebke, Daniel Luebke, and thirty-four great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Henry, Alfred, and David, two sisters, Lila Vogt and Lorretta Kracht, a nephew Jeffrey Vogt and his brother-in-law Arland Vogt.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ- Schwarzwald, W3401 Orchard Rd, Elkhart Lake, with Rev. Melinda Feller officiating. Burial will follow at St. John United Church of Christ -Schwarzwald Cemetery.
