John Nuttall Walz, 94. a resident of Hattiesburg, MS, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born in New Orleans, LA on September 8, 1924. He served in the United States Navy during WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Elaine Cooper Walz of Hattiesburg, MS; two sons, Randall John Walz (Grace Fergeson) of Bogalusa, LA, and Mark Fletcher Walz of Houston, TX; a daughter, Cynthia Walz Hatcher (Wade) of Norcross, GA; and a son-in-law, Gabriel Attal of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren, Anne Walz, John Walz, Dany Attal, Sophia Attal, Roby Attal, Laine Hatcher, Philip Hatcher, Hunter Walz, and Harrison Walz. 

He is preceded in death by two daughters, Elizabeth Anne Walz, and Marilyn Kay Walz Attal; his father, John Nuttall Walz; his mother Mary Pearl Ingram Kemp; a sister, Elizabeth “Patsy” Berteau; and a brother, Daniel Walz.

Visitation will be held at Elizabeth Sullivan United Methodist Church, 510 Avenue B, Bogalusa, LA 70427 on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Bill Moon officiating. Interment will follow at McGehee Cemetery.
