She is the daughter of the late Henry Lane and Sarah Tolliver Lane.
She was a homemaker, was Baptist by faith, and attended New Richmond Chapel. In her leisure, she enjoyed quilting, embroidering, flower gardening, canning, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son David Dunford who perished in Vietnam while serving combat duty with the United States Army; four sisters, Dollie Buchanon, Birdie Mullins, and two infant sisters; and a brother, Nelson Amos Lane.
Survivors include her husband, Avery "Abe" Dunford; son, Darrell Dunford (wife Bertha); five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Bethel Lane; and two brothers, Walter Lane and Mart Lane (wife Laura).
Services at 1:00 p. m. Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry England officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
