He graduated from Kokomo High School and went on to work for the Chrysler Corp. as a janitor retiring in 2006. He also co-owned F.C.S. the family cleaning service.
He was a member of Christian Heritage Worship Center in Kokomo for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and working for the church and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, son, Shawne (Deborah) Overton, daughters, Chandra Nead, and Amanda (Eric) Bougher, all of Kokomo; five grandchildren, Kyrsten Koelling, Indianapolis, Wylen Overton, Kokomo, Alexus Nead, Kokomo, Dominic Nead, Kokomo, and Kaiden Bougher, Miami, In; three great-grandchildren, Brennan Nead, Daxton Nead, and Catherine Gibson, all of Kokomo; brother, Johnney Overton, Kokomo; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don and Joel Overton; grandson, Blake Nead; and great grandson, Arron Koelling.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home 112 E. Main St. Greentown. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. also at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home 112 E. Main St. Greentown with Pastors Steve Bratcher and Bill Meiring officiating. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown
