Brinda Geralynn McEwin, of Okemah, Oklahoma, passed away September 13, 2018, at the age of 61. She was born September 7, 1957, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Gerald Dee & Jackie (McGee) McEwin.

Brinda enjoyed singing, playing the piano, harmonica and dulcimer. She enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with friends. Brinda enjoyed going to Branson with her family. She also enjoyed playing canasta and dominoes. Brinda was an Oklahoma Sooner's fan. Some of her favorite movies were “Sound of Music,” “Grease,” “Pollyanna” and “Oklahoma.” Brinda attended high school in Newcastle, and was a member of the graduating Class of 1975. She was still very close to many of her classmates and they would get together often. Brinda was a homemaker and drove a school bus for Moore Public Schools for most of her working career. She was very uplifting, always had a genuine smile on her face, and never met a stranger. Brinda had a kind, loving, and gentle heart and would help anyone in need. Gerald said his mom made the best biscuits and gravy. Krystal said her mother-in-law cooked with love and made delicious chicken fried steak, tacos, and Christmas candy. Her first love was her Lord and Savior and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was always at their events and was their biggest cheerleader.

Brinda is survived by 1 son, Gerald Clay & wife, Krystal, of Oklahoma City; 1 daughter, Tabitha Clay, of Okemah, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her mother, Jackie McEwin; 1 brother, Michael McEwin, of Moore; 1 sister, Deann Cosby, of South Carolina. She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald McEwin; 1 son, Joshua Clay; and 1 brother, Billy McEwin.

Funeral Services for Brinda will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Apostolic Worship Center, located at 3221 N. Porter Ave., Norman, Oklahoma.Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 2301 E. Indian Hills Rd., Norman, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, Oklahoma.
