Helen Naomi (Fullerton) Wansink is the Granddaughter of Robert Fullerton Sr. (1844-1933) and Agnes (Henderson) Fullerton (1845-1899), who arrived in Cook County, IL, from the Shetland Isles, Scotland, in about 1871. Robert Sr. and Agnes (Henderson) Fullerton were blessed with five children, including Alex Henry Fullerton (1876-1948), who married Elsie Jane (Bower) Fullerton (1884-1968) in 1901

Alex Henry and Elsie Jane Fullerton had eight children - the eighth was Helen Naomi Fullerton (1928-2018), and last born are typically natural charmers with an outgoing, social personality. She married John Charles Wansink (1926-2020), on March 21, 1948, who for 62 years, was clearly smitten by this incredible and beautiful lady.

Helen Naomi was a studitious, focused, caring, confident, and personable woman, as seen in her Senior Class picture, as she graduated from the Correctionville, IA High School in 1945. Following her graduation, she attended an Omaha business school, where she completed business courses to prepare for her career, before returning to Sioux City, IA.

In Sioux City, she had a nearly 30 year career with the Woodbury County Attorney's office, where upon the Sioux City Journal published an article focused on all the people she had helped while there - for certain, many hundreds.

Helen and John started their family with two sons, Brian (1960) and Craig (1962), and those sons filled Naomi and John's lives with much love and joy and the ongoing adventures of two incredible and very active growing boys.

While the boys were growing, Naomi delighted in playing the role of the Jeopardy host, complete with popcorn and M&Ms. From neighbors to church friends, to co-workers and students working in Sioux City for the summer, she warmly welcomed a variety of guests into her home - she loved people and sharing her home with them.

She was famous for her open houses during the Christmas holidays, and the many promotional buttons she collected.

Naomi loved to laugh and joke with others and was especially mischievous on April Fool's Day. For more than 20 years of her retirement, she enjoyed square dancing, continuing education classes, and volunteering throughout the Siouxland, including reading to the blind. She was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church for more than 65 years, and she was honored by the church in 2012, with the Lydia Lifestyle Award.

On the day of her passing, she was survived by her husband John Charles, her two sons and daughter-in-laws, Brian and Jennifer - and Craig and Nancy - and five grandchildren - Katrina, Teddy, Audrey, Valerie, and Lieve.

Naomi is a high bar for all of us, and we know the Lord welcomes her, with open arms, to his heavenly team. May God bless her and thank her - for a job well done!! :)
