AGED LADY DEAD
Mrs. A.C. Martin Died at Her Home by the Fair Grounds Yesterday

Thursday evening about 5 o'clockthe soul of Mrs. A. C. Martin slipped quietly away from the frail body and returned again to the God who gave it. Mrs. Martin has been a sufferer for over a year from dropsy and cancer and when death came it ws a relief from constant pain.

Elizabeth Alexander was born in Shelby County, Ky., in the year of 1838. From there the family removed to southern Indiana, and from there to Coles county where she was wedded to A.C. Martin and for this union were born three children, Mrs. Cora Hutton, Mrs. Ella Westein, and a son, Origin Martin. These with the stricken father are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother and a faithful wife.

Mrs. Martin united withthe Christian church thirty-three years ago and to her religious vows she was ever faithful. She was a friend to the entire neighborhood and was ever ready to help in times of sickness and trouble. In her home she ruled by kindness and her taking is a great grief to the children who are left.

The funeral services were conducted from the house at half past three o'clock this afternoon by Rev. Will F. Shaw, after which interment was made in Mound cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the family in their grief.
