Jssica Marie (Smith) Barker entered into eternal life on September 9, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. Born in Houston, Texas; Jessica was 36 years old. The youngest of two daughters to Jean and Robert Smith, Jessica was born on October 8, 1981. Jessica is preceded in death by her father, Robert Irving Smith, her maternal grandparents, Elo and Florence Schmidt, and her paternal grandparents, Wymond and Dolores Smith. She is survived by her husband, William Demond Barker, her mother, Jean Marie Smith, and her sister, Jayme Lea Smith. Growing up, Jessica loved spending weekends with her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She especially loved swimming and going fishing with her Papa. Jessica graduated from Cypress Falls High School in 2000. Her proudest achievement in high school was lettering in Volleyball after serving two years as the Volleyball Manager. Jessica’s occupation was in Customer Service. Her strength in helping people was her passion, and she was known for having an astute intuition.

Jessica moved from Houston to Irving, TX in 2004. In 2005, she met Demond Barker. After eight years as friends, their relationship became official in October 2013. Jessica proposed to Demond in May 2014, and Demond finally put a ring on her finger with his proposal in October 2015! Jessica and Demond were married on October 8, 2016. She picked that date specifically because it was the same anniversary date as her grandparents, Elo and Florence Schmidt, and to her, it represented the longevity of the sanctity of marriage. It was the happiest day of her life. (Plus, it was her birthday!) Jessica and Demond resided in Euless, Texas with their dog Gabby. Gabby was always by her side, helping her to get through troubled times.

Jessica’s hobbies included crafting and painting. She loved playing board games and listening to music that made you move! And, everyone knew she loved her collections of shoes and makeup. Her witty nature and beautiful smile will be greatly missed.
