Funeral services were held at the Landon Funeral Home Monday afternoon for Michael L. Lockhart, retired farmer of Payette, who died at his home here Saturday afternoon after several week's ill health. Rev. S. Dallas McNeil officiated. Interment was in the Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Lockhart was born May 10, 1860 in Aledo, Illinois. In 1884 he moved to Nebraska where he homesteaded a section of land. The following year he married Francis Burks on August 28 in Armada. They moved to Payette county in 1913 where they had since made their home.
Surviving are his wife and five children, Mrs. R. H. Seaman of Broken Bow, Nebraska; R. L. Lockhart of Kearney, Nebraska; Mrs. Ray N. Alters of Payette; Floyd B. Lockhart of Weiser, and Miss Fay Lockhart of Boise. Another daughter, Mrs. Leota Melcher, died in 1919. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
