Mr. Bruce Edward Warren, 69 of Crossett, AR, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Ashley County Medical Center. He was a former resident of Chicago, IL, but had resided in Crossett most of his life, a retiree of Georgia Pacific Paper Mill, and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Crossett. He was a mason, member of Exodus Lodge #403, and had served in the past as master, was elected High Priest Royal Arch Mason State Line 81, Crossett, AR, was elected Past Most Excellet Grand High Priest, State of Arkansas. He was Deputy for the Grand Encampment USA and was Grand Inspector General Coronate 33rd Commander of the Rite. He was also served in the following capacities: Boy Scout District Commissioner, Order of the Arrow, ASAP, CASA, Democratic Party Commissioner, member of the United Way Fund,and local Union 369, NAACP. He also was a former member of the Crossett School Board. Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his father, Abe Warren, and his mother and step-father, Willie Mae Mott Coates & Robert Coates.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Carolyn Warren, two sons: Gregory, wife Vernell Warren of Upper Marlboro, MD & Anthony, wife Angela Warren of Newport News, VA, one daughter, Crystal, husband Sterling Hall of Waukegan, IL, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services are Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Tyrone Broomfield, officiating. Pallbearers are Jessie Lowe, Hoover Lemons, Perry Handley, Robert Cornelius, Santario Scott, Leondrus Simpson, Jerrod Handley & Rev. Kenneth Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Exodus Lodge #403 & T.W. Daniel Class of 1957. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
