Roxie L. Simpson, 81 of Moberly, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 in Columbia, MO. Roxie was born October 22, 1936 in Salisbury, MO to Walter Chaney and Erma Rupp Chaney. Roxie was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church of Moberly. She worked at Midwest Linen for over 40 years until her retirement. Roxie was a huge Cardinal baseball fan and more than anything, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Those preceding Roxie in death are her parents; her beloved husband, Norman Simpson; her son, David Cropp and her sister, Doris Davis.
Survivors include her children, Deborah (Brian) Bleakney of Estero, FL, Cynthia Davis, Norman Cropp Jr. and Tony (Patricia) Cropp all of Columbia, MO and Tonya Boone of Moberly; grandchildren, Shanae Sutherland and Samyra (Daniel) Evans all of Columbia, MO, Tiesha Cropp, Tamera Boone and Alfred Boone all of Moberly, MO, Tonikka Midgyett, Anthony Midgyett and Terill Tydings all of Columbia, MO and Jeremy Bleakney of Norfolk, VA; great grandchildren, Daniel Evans III and Aubrey Evans; nephews, Tim Davis of MN and Ben Davis of GA; niece, Pam Davis Weems of MO; extended family and several close friends.
Services celebrating Roxie’s life will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions in Roxie’s honor are suggested to South Hampton Place, c/o Activities, 4700 Brandon woods St., Columbia, MO 65203.
