On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Gordon Ward Evans, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at age eighty-nine.

Gordon was born November 23, 1928 in Boneta to Ward and Elzada Evans. On December 17, 1947, he married his sweetheart, Beth Mitchel Evans. They raised two children, Kent and Connie. After Beth's passing in 2002, Gordon married Barbara Brassaw Evans on November 7, 2003.

Gordon was a wise man who was often sought after for his sage advice. This showed through in his faithful service as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as Bishop, Stake President, Temple Ordinance Worker, and in many other church callings, where he impacted the lives of those he strived to help. He also served a full-time mission in Johannesburg, South Africa with his wife, Beth.

Gordon was passionate about his garden and being involved in the community. He worked at Winder Dairy for thirty-nine years, after which he worked with the Granite School District Board of Education, Salt Lake County Recreation Board, West Valley City Council, and the Granger-Hunter Improvement District.

Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Beth; wife, Barbara; and brothers, Gale, Kent, and Wendell. He is survived by his children, Kent (Nancy) and Connie (Cal); siblings, Chad, Forest, Conrad, Val, Burke, Eloise, and Kathy; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
