Elaine Duvall
Rebecca Elaine Grice Duvall, 76, wife of Billy Fred Duvall, resident of West Northside Drive, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at her home.
Born in Marion, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie and Ruby Perritt Grice. She was a graduate of Marion High School, where she was a member of the ladies basketball team. Elaine pursued and received her nursing degree from Lander College. She retired as an RN from Self Memorial Hospital after 42 years of service.
Elaine was a people person and natural caretaker. Called on by many friends and family, she always made herself available during their time of need. She loved to garden and was an avid Clemson Tigers fan.
She was a member of Tranquil United Methodist Church, where she formerly over the years enjoyed fellowship with the United Methodist Women.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home is a son, William Mark Duvall of Greenville; a sister, Sabra Longshore Edwards and husband Jerry of Marietta, GA.; a brother, Lonnie Grice, Jr. of Florence; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, September 15 at Tranquil United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Shawn G. Armstrong officiating.
The family is at the home and will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Tranquil United Methodist Church, 1702 McCormick Hwy., Greenwood, SC 29646 or to The William Preston Turner School of Nursing, c/o The Lander University Foundation, 320 Stanley Ave., Greenwood, SC 29649.
