Judy Ann Carden Ellis, 72, of Hephzibah, entered into rest on Monday, September 10, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at The Chattanooga National Cemetery.
A native of Chattanooga, she spent 21 years as a military wife before they settled in Augusta upon retirement 35 years ago. She was a devoted member of Pine Hill Baptist Church for the past 35 years.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Jerry Ellis, Sr.; her children, Lisa Payne (John) and Jerry L. Ellis Jr.; her sister, Deborah Creek (Michael); grandchildren, Chris Reese (Heather), Sandra Lomenick, Brandi Christman; great grandchildren, Corrin, Samantha, Aubryn, and Savannah; several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Wright Robert (Bob) and Dorothy Carden, a sister, Bobbie Jean Gilbreath, and a brother, Donnie Carden.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, and also on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at The Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 S. Moore Road, Chattanooga. A graveside "Celebration of Judy's Life" will be held on Friday September 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends again on Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 am until departure for the cemetery.
