Marcus attended Central Senior High School and was a member of the class of 1999. He began work as an iron worker at several refineries throughout Beaumont, and Houston, Texas.
Marcus was a sports fanatic and he loved every sport that was played. If you knew Marcus, you know that he watched ESPN in his sleep.
He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a member of Southwest Community Baptist Church in Houston.
On Thursday, June 7, 2018 Marcus was called home. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alton J. Espree and his Paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James T. Mitchell Sr.
Marcus will forever be in the hearts of his children, Marcus D. Mitchell Jr. "J.Marcu", Elijah Mitchell and Sumija Mitchell, his parents, Bobbie Jean and James Thomas Mitchell Jr.; siblings, Derrick Mitchell (Jackie), Dwight Mitchell (Toya), Tigee Mitchell, Jeremy Andrus (Jackie) and Tashika McCollister (Bill) and a host of other relatives and friends.
On Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church, there will be visitation from 9 AM, followed by the service at 11AM. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, Texas.
