Eddie Sue Welch Batchelor, 95, of McRae, died Tuesday, September 11, following a brief illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M., Friday, September 14, at Midway United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Ms. Batchelor was the youngest and last surviving of the eleven children of the late William Edgar and Sudie Quinn Welch. She was the wife of the late James Wilbur Batchelor. A Workmore High School graduate, she was an active member and song leader of Midway United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed her leadership role as President of the Residents Council at McRae Manor where, in 2005, she was named Ms. McRae Manor. A dedicated wife and mother, she enjoyed a rich and full life and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Faye (R.E.) Smith of Tyler, TX, Brenda (Ken) Vickery of Marietta, Linda (Richard) Johnson of Grovetown and Marcia (Joe) Pennone of Warner Robins; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midway United Methodist Church, c/o Raleigh Garrison, 1040 Old Rebie Rd., Chester, GA 31012.
