Faye Blackwell-Maxwell, 92, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in Amarillo.
A visitation will be held from 6-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Faye was born May 9, 1926 in Clarendon, TX to W.T. (Boy) Blackwell and Maye Belle Shirley-Blackwell. She was raised on the JA Ranch and graduated from Clarendon High School in 1943. Faye married Roy W. Maxwell, Sr. on June 28, 1947 in Panhandle, TX.
Faye worked at Country Pride Restaurant as a waitress then cashier for 35 years. She retired in 2008 at the age of 83.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents; 2 brothers, Bud Jones and Russ Blackwell; and 4 sisters, Evelyn Jones, Louise Jones-Phillips, Joann Blackwell-Davis, and Shirley Blackwell-Smith.
Faye is survived by her children, Tom Maxwell and wife, JoAnna or Port Orchard, WA, Roy Maxwell, Jr. and wife, Becky of Lake Fork, TX, and daughter, Brenda Maxwell-Barnes and husband, Jimmy of Cleburne, TX; grandchildren, Tyra Maxwell-Bufkin and husband, Todd, Tom Maxwell, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Corey Maxwell-Bishop, Crista Maxwell-Figgins and husband, Brett, Casey Maxwell and wife, Jennifer, Jason Maxwell and wife, Melissa, Pace Maxwell and wife, Kassidi, Dana Maxwell-Hicks and husband, Jeff, Rider Barnes and wife, Noelle, Lincoln Barnes and wife, Casey, Alison Barnes, and J. Brandon Barnes and wife, Ashley; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and very special friends.
Our family would like to thank Encompass Hospice of Amarillo for such loving, kind, and compassionate care of our mother and family; and a very special thank you to our cousin, Carolyn Norrid and husband, Olin for your constant love and devotion.
