Sonya Lynn Smith, age 54, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, September 9, 2018, at a local hospice facility.
Ms. Smith was born May 17, 1964, in Longview, Texas. She worked many jobs through the years including being a CNA, a daycare worker and a security guard for International Paper. She was a natural caregiver and enjoyed each role she played in the lives of others. Ms. Smith was also a member of Buchanan First Baptist Church.
She had a love for music and shared that love with her daughter Brittney, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include her parents, Cecil and Beverly Jones of Queen City, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Kyle Henry of Linden, Texas and Nikki and John Arrington of Alvarado, Texas; six nephews, Daly Marsh, Zachary Marsh, Daniel Arrington, Christopher Arrington, and Patrick Arrington and Traccer Henry; and one niece, Torri Moyers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Chapelwood Funeral Home with Rev. Don Brazile officiating. Burial will follow in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
