Albert was a member of Washington Street Baptist church where he served as Deacon, sang in the male choir and the senior choir served on the missionary ministry. He served as a security officer for the United States Air Force and Korean Veteran of Foreign War for four years. Albert was a member of 32 degree Prince Hall Mason as well as an Auxiliary Bedford County Deputy Sheriff. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a civil service mail handler with 34 years of service.
Throughout his 55 years of marriage to Peggy they were blessed with six children who survive them, Peggy D. Lee, Albert Warner Johnson, Jr. and wife, Pamela Johnson, Pamela D. Johnson, Col. Anthony W. Johnson and wife, Patricia Johnson, Maryann Johnson and April Ann Johnson; 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
A funeral service and celebration of Albert’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Washington Street Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Henderson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bold Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for fellowship one hour prior to the service starting at 1:00 pm also at the church.
