EAST MACHIAS – Newell R. White, 79, of East Machias, Maine passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2018 after a brief illness. Newell was born February 16, 1939 in Jonesboro, Maine to Laurence and Josephine Mae (Redimarker) White. Newell made his living as a mechanic retiring after 24 years of service from Johnson’s Town Line. Newell also worked seasonal jobs whenever necessary to support his wife and six children. Newell loved his family and enjoyed their visits. He enjoyed his daily rides with his wife, Mary. His door was always open to anyone. He will be fondly remembered for his smile and his advice to all. Newell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary (Reeves) White, and six children, Jane and husband Nelson Clark, Beth and husband James Hawkins, Mark and wife Becky, Roice and wife Cindy, Ricky and wife Dolline, and Eugene and his wife Lori; grandchildren, Sandra and husband Mike Sebastiao, Christina and husband Chris Bridges, Karrisa Jo, Eric, Dustin, Nigel and his companion Michaela Gerard, Britney and her companion Ryan McGuire, Timothy, Breanna and her companion Mike Buzzell, Samantha, Issac, Justin and Blaze; stepgrandchildren, Jared and Jeremy Gray; great-grandchildren, Felicia, Tia and her companion Colby Debow, Blake, Addison, Liam, Lydia, Sophia, Bailey, Drew, Bentley, Julio and Greyson; and one great-great granddaughter, Abigail; special friends, Aaron Foss, Linda Lee and Christina; and many nieces, nephew and friends too numerous to mention. Newell was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Floyd and Richard, sisters-in-law, Susie and Nancy. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Jacksonville Cemetery in East Machias, with Al Nehrings officiating. The family invites friends and family to the annual family pig roast, in Newell’s memory, at Mark’s house, 752 Jacksonville Road, East Machias, immediately following the service.
