Hazel Lanelle (Griffeth) Carson, age 95, wife of the late O’Neal Carson of Watkinsville, died Monday, September 10, 2018.
She was the daughter of the late Earl and Lizzie Griffeth. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Mike Carson, and eight brothers and sisters. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church. Mrs. Carson was a homemaker most of her life, but also worked at Rent’em Inc. (now Ameripride) and Thaxton’s Turkeys.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Louise (Mack) Fielding of Watkinsville; two grandchildren, Wade Fielding of Colbert and Lisa Fielding (Marc) Thompson of Dacula; four great grandchildren, Zachary and Madison Fielding and Katelyn and Carson Thompson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Jim Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in the Willoughby Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Oconee Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Loran Randall, Oran Randall, Larry Anderson, David Hayes, Wade Fielding, Marc Thomason. Honorary Pallbearers will be Zachary Fielding and Carson Thompson.
The family would like to thank CHSGA Home Healthcare (Allyson) and Affinis Hospice (Gail and Liz) for their care and compassion.
