Franklin D. Watkins II affectionately known as KATO, was born August 25, 1951 in St. Petersburg, Florida to Franklin D. Watkins and Altamese Hooks-Watkins. He was the eldest of eight siblings. He was a graduate of Rochelle Senior High School, Class of 1969. He joined the US Armed Forces as a member of the United States Marine Corp and served honorably. He was a professional Martial Arts Instructor for many years in Lakeland until his health failed. He was a member of Greater Refuge Church of Our Lord and Word Alive Ministries. He leaves to mourn his passing a loving family, his children,Yolonda (Devin) Myers,(Winter Haven, FL), Tracy Powell (Timothy) of Lake Alfred, Ebony Cantryl Bell (Johnnie) of Auburndale, FL., Franklin D. Watkins III (Auburndale, FL), and Krysma Watkins (Lakeland); his parents, Deacon Franklin D. Watkins and Altamese J. Hooks- Watkins; his siblings, Lillie D. Johnson, Tonia M. Oldham, Kenneth J. Watkins, Jeffrey D. Watkins, Bishop Alonzo A. Watkins, Alfred A. Watkins, and Sylvia R. Brown; grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
