"Funeral Services For Mrs. Merrill Coming Saturday"
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Lorraine Bovay Merrill, who died last Monday morning at the Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Dodge, Ia., following an attack of pneumonia, are tentatively set for Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at St. Paul's Methodist Church of which she was a member. The Rev. Oliver J. Werner will conduct the services. Burial will be in Pinal Cemetery.
Born in Stuttgart, Ark., July 30, 1924, Mrs. Merrill had resided in Globe since 1932. She was a graduate of the Globe high school and while attending Bob Jones College in Cleveland, Tenn., she became ill with a throat condition and returned to Globe.
A year ago she suffered an attack of pneumonia, becoming seriously ill, and was given treatment at the Gila general hospital where she was placed under the iron lung for several weeks. She recovered from the attack and seemed to have become completely restored to health.
On Jan. 6 of this year she was married to Staff Sgt. Wayne M. Merrill and went with him to California where she resided for several months. She again suffered an attack of the throat ailment and was taken to Mayo Brothers Clinic last July by her husband. Her condition improved under treatment at the clinic and she went to Otho, Ia., to reside with her husband's mother. Last Saturday she again had a recurrence of pneumonia and died the following Monday.
Other than her husband she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bovay, Globe; two sisters, Maylene Bovay, Globe; and Lynette Bovay, now attending college at Cleveland, Tenn.; her grandmother, Mrs. Hattie Harris, Stuttgart, who will be here for the services.
