Kenneth E. Shockey, 78, Granby, entered into rest on September 11, 2018 at his home, following a lengthy illness. Kenneth was born November 21, 1939 in Wyandotte, OK, the son of Willis and Nellie (Wright) Shockey. He served in the Army Reserves and in 1966 moved to the Granby area from Fairland, OK. He worked as a brick mason in commercial construction. He loved to follow his grandchildren in their activities and had enjoyed hunting, fishing and being a cowboy. He was a member of the Granby United Methodist Church and had made multiple mission trips to serve his Savior to Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Four Corners Mission on the Reservation. Kenneth and Shirley (Powell) were married on May 27, 1962 in Fairland, OK and she survives. Additional survivors include four children, Kim Elsey of Cassville; Sheri McAlister and husband, Eddie of Neosho; Randy Shockey and wife, Jackie of Tulsa, OK and Zach Shockey and wife, Cassie of Diamond; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Ellsworth, A.J. Shadwick, Nathan McAlister, Lindle McAlister, Madilyn Sellars, Ajay Sellars, Koy Shockey, Cale Shockey and grandchild number nine due in December; two great grandchildren and two sisters, Patti Love and Kay Captain, both of Fairland, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents and half sister, Carrie Lee Coffey. Services will be Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 at 1 pm at the Granby United Methodist Church, Pastor Kim Hoover and Don Hames will officiate. Interment will follow in the Wyandotte Nation Cemetery, Wyandotte, OK and serving as pallbearers will be Eddie McAlister, Don Hames, Bud McBride, Eric McBride, Frank Captain and Jerry Hobson. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby. The casket will be closed at all times. Contributions in memory of Kenneth may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 26; Granby, MO 64844.
