William Joseph “Bill” Bailey, 85, of McAlester, died on Saturday, September 8, 2018 in McAlester.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Victory Park Baptist Church with Rev. Jody Domingue officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.

Bailey was born on November 26, 1932 at Richville, Oklahoma to Joseph Walter and Wilma (Westbrook) Bailey. He attended Richville Public School through the eighth grade. He was a graduate of McAlester High School, Oklahoma Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Seminary. He retired from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in McAlester. A committed, dedicated Christian, he was a member of Victory Park Baptist Church and a long-time member of the Gideons.

He is survived by his sister, Celia Stipe of McAlester, brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Debra Bailey of Ada, numerous nieces and nephews.

Bailey was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph Walter and Wilma (Westbrook) Bailey, brother, Bob Bailey and brother-in-law, Oscar Stipe.

Active pallbearers will be Eric Goostree, Curtis Parham, Chris Trainor, Alan Stasny, Kevin Rogers and Rick Mass.
