Mathew L. Brown, age 34 years of Pittsford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 6, 2018. He was born on October 11, 1983 in Hillsdale. Mathew graduated from the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy in Battle Creek. He joined the United States Marine Corps in March 2001 and served in Iraq during Iraqi Freedom II. He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal, earned a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (With Combat Distinguishing Device) in April 2004 and many other ribbons, medals and badges. Mathew received his Honorable Discharge in March 2005. He earned his diesel mechanic certificate. Mathew enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars. He struggled living with a TBI he received while in Iraq and PTSD. He will be dearly missed by his family and his Devil Dogs, Magnificent Bastards of the 2D Battalion, 4TH Marines Regiment.
Surviving are his 3 children, his parents, sister, brother, niece, aunt, many cousins, and special family friend. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Cecil (Laurel) Davis and Bernard (Mary) Brown. Cremation has taken place.

Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
