NOVEMBER 2, 1919 – JANUARY 19, 2016

Nolie Davis Grimes Maxey, 96, passed away at home on January 18, 2016, under the care of Big Bend Hospice. She was born November 2, 1919 in Sopchoppy, Fl., to John Green Davis and Mary Robinson Davis. She is survived by Phillip Grimes, Bill (Betty) Grimes, Bob (Carolyn) Grimes, Melanie (Rick) Jernigan, Elaine Green, Gene (Shirley) Maxey, and Richard (Charlotte) Maxey. She took great joy in her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The family appreciates the many years of care given by Diann Coleman. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Daymond U. Grimes and Al Maxey; and a daughter, Rowena Grimes Bazo. She was a loving and caring mother and step-mother. Her passions for life were cooking, fishing, and she was an award winning artist. Interment will be at Grimes Cemetery in Sopchoppy, Florida at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 23, 2016, with the family receiving friends at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice or your favorite charity.
