Troy Martin, 79, of Wister, OK, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018, in Wister, OK. He was born November 15, 1938 in Eakly, OK to Arlan Lee Martin and Ruby (Cope) Martin.



Troy was president and owner of Southwestern Paint and Wallpaper Inc., the largest independent paint store in Houston, Texas for more than 25 years. He is a lifetime committee member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where he served for 20 years. He loved everything sports and livestock from the Houston Oilers, Astros, Houston Cougars, Texans to cows, goats, rabbits, chickens, show horses…His race horses, A Rare Miss, Master Magic and Carhahans Magic won many races and awards with Carnahans Magic winning Quarterhorse of the Year in 1985. His greatest accomplishment was retiring to Wister, Oklahoma where he owned a “little bit of heaven on earth with lots of toys” for him, his daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Troy is preceded in death by his Parents, a son Mark Wychopen Martin, two brothers Leon Martin and Carl Martin, and two sisters Arletta Ringler and C. Faye Moore.



Troy is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Williams of Pasadena, TX, one brother Dean Martin of Grants, NM, two sisters Irma Dell Gunther of Houston, Tx, Coletta Barrick of Dallas, TX, three grandchildren Robert Williams, Brittany Cole, Cheyne Martin and three great-grandchildren as well as a host of other family members, friends.
