Anne Marie Sturgeon, 86, died Sept. 6, 2018 at her home in Lake Havasu City surrounded by family. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love of prayer and of family and friends carried her through this life.

Anne was born on Sept. 11, 1931, in Meigsville, Ohio, to Stephen and Anna Slivka, the eighth of nine children. After moving to California in 1953, she met her soulmate, Russell Sturgeon, and the couple married in 1958 in Rialto, California.

Married for almost 60 years, Anne and Russell raised three children: Sister Maria Perpetua, Stephen Russell and John Michael. Possessing a true servant's heart, Anne faithfully cared for friends and family, was a woman of strong Catholic faith and was the ever-constant heart of the Sturgeon family. Anne loved spending time with her family, was a Third Order member of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and was an accomplished small aircraft pilot, serving in the Arizona Civil Air Patrol based in Havasu.
