Loretta was a 1947 graduate of St. Louis High School and was married to James J. Griffin on October 27, 1951 in Angola, Indiana.
She worked for several years as a waitress at the Diner in St. Louis and the Hesspark Hotel. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling and was a faithful member of Nativity of the Lord Parish in St. Louis. Loretta’s greatest treasure in life was her family, who will miss her dearly.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Linda (David) Dankert of St. Louis; her son, Jimmy Griffin of St. Louis; a grandson, Michael (Angela) Criswell of Laingsburg; two great grandchildren, Brandon and Erica Criswell; and a sister, Peggy Barr of Alma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; and infant daughter, Karen Griffin; four sisters, Ann Kelchner, Michaleen Dean, Helen Sugar, Mary Saunders and a brother, Julius Andruski.
A prayer service for Loretta was held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Lux Funeral Home, St. Louis with Fr. Nate Harburg of Nativity of the Lord Parish officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Warwick Living Center, whom the family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the exceptional care they have given to their mother and the support they have provide to them personally.
