Steven graduated from Stafford High School where he lettered in basketball, track and football. He went on to study at Virginia Tech and then entered the U.S. Air Force with the 6990th Security Group before leaving as a Sergeant. His career encompassed PRC Reality Systems and Hilldrup Companies where he retired in 2015. Steven was a Deacon at Fairview Baptist Church where he served the Lord for many years and enjoyed being one of the sound and broadcast technicians.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shay Curtis; mother Anita Dillard Curtis; sons Chad (Christine), Bret (An) and Steven Jr. (Bridgette); grandchildren Diana, Anne, Jase, Robin, Arne, Jade and Silke; siblings Kimberly Campbell (Ray), Robin Curtis, Kelly Curtis and Matthew Curtis (Miki). He was preceded in death by his father, Odell Harris Curtis.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 13 at Fairview Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in his honor to Fairview Baptist Church, earmarked for the sound department.
