DECATUR — Ann Hughes Barron, 94, a longtime resident of Decatur, died on Sept. 6, 2018 in Dothan, Alabama.

Visitation will be held starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11th at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church in Decatur, followed by a Funeral Mass at noon at the church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Barron was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Joseph W. Hughes and Willie Morgan Hughes; and her husband of 67 years, William Rodney Barron.

She is survived by her children, Dr. William Rodney Barron Jr. (Mary Ross), of Dothan, Elizabeth Barron Russell (Vaughan), of Selma, Robert Lawrence Barron, of Decatur, and Bruce Joseph Barron, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Barron was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was totally dedicated to her family and her faith.

She was an active member of St. Ann / Annunciation of the Lord Church for over 80 years. Her kindness, outgoing nature, and genuine interest in others endeared her to many.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Annunciation of the Lord Building Fund or Sacred Heart Monastery in Cullman.

Roselawn Funeral Home has the honor of assisting the family.
