Francis married Barbara Jean Netley on October 1, 1963. They moved to Sacramento, California in 1965 to be near Barbaras' granddaughters Karen and Nancy. His wife Barbara died on July 25, 1975. Francis met Sue Stevenson and her son Jeremy in February of 1983. They became family and Francis became their "Papa Fran."
Francis retired in 1987 and would spend his time living In California and Idaho. Sue married Bill Drennon on December 5, 1987. After their daughter Bethany was born, they came to visit Papa Fran in Idaho. Sue, Bill, Jeremy and Bethany moved to Boise, Idaho on August 14, 1989. Papa Fran lived with the Drennon's part-time until 2003 when he came to live with them "forever."
Francis was always there to help in any way that he could. Papa was early to bed and early to rise. He read his Bible every night before he went to sleep. He was a true gentleman with a wonderful sense of humor, knowledge, stories and jokes. He Is survived by those who called him Papa, Grandpa, Uncle, and Friend. He Is preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. Awesome will be the day when we all get to see him again and never have to say goodbye.
