Springfield, IL—Dorothy Jean Bush Ledbetter, 93, of Springfield, passed away at 10:42 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018, in the care of Covenant Hospice in Panama City, FL.
Dorothy was born December 14, 1924, in Virginia, the daughter of Elmer Bernard Millner, Sr. and Beulah Enola Ivey Millner. She married Lester Ray Bush on May 23, 1941, they eloped after graduation. Lester preceded Dorothy in death on October 17, 1966. Dorothy married Everett Ledbetter on April 23, 2003, at Springfield Southern Baptist Church when they were both 80 years old.
Dorothy graduated from Virginia High School in 1942. She worked as a beautician for over 50 years. She was a member of Springfield Southern Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed collecting dolls and had over 250 in her collection.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Carol, Richard, E.B. and Dale Millner; four sisters, Geraldine Ihlenfeldt, Justine Lowe, Mary Millner, and Frances Millner; and one step-son, Everett Nolan Ledbetter.
She is survived by her husband, Everett Ledbetter of Springfield; two daughters, Sandra Kay and Linda Sue; three grandchildren,; four great-grandchildren,, Dawn Kelly Leeand several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren that she dearly loved; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery near Farmingdale.
