Mary K. (Keim) Sears, 94, of Churchville, formerly of Boyertown, Fleetwood, and Topton, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday evening, September 7, 2018, at Attleboro Nursing Home, Langhorne.

Born October 22, 1923, in Gablesville, Mary was the daughter of the late Milton and Clara (Erb) Keim.

Her husband of 61 years, John F. Sears, passed away on February 3, 2010.

Mary served her country honorably and faithfully in the United States Army as an Army nurse during World War II. After the war, Mary continued caring for others as a registered nurse, both in private duty as well as at Reading Hospital where she retired from in 1988. Her father started Keim Orchards in Boyertown, which is still owned and operated by Mary's relatives.

Mary was a former member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boyertown. She was a 1941 graduate of Boyertown High School and a 1945 graduate of the Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing. Mary spent many years as a church organist serving at Moravian and Christian churches in Reading and at Ephiphany Lutheran Church in Temple. She loved cooking, canning, gardening, sewing, traveling, playing the piano and most of all, spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her 5 children: John P. Sears, longtime companion of Maria Diaz, Lebanon, Pa.; Jim W. Sears, husband of Carol D. (Barnes) Sears, Lebanon; Anne C. Sears, Reading; Mark T. Sears, longtime companion of Shelly Moser, Hamburg; and Nancy S. (Sears) Wolf, wife of Jon B. Wolf, Churchville, Pa. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Meghan, Matthew, Erin, Alex, Kyle, Noah and Kirsten; and by her sister-in-law, Jean (Neiman) Keim, Boyertown.

In addition to her husband, John, and her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings: Grace, Helen, Sarah and William.

Memorial Services for Mary will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Blvd., Boyertown, with the Rev. Dr. Robert D. Machamer officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church. Private burial with military honors will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, Fleetwood, is honored to be caring for Mary and her family.
